Prosecution of former V-C stayed

HYDERABAD:  Justice Raja Elango of the AP High court on Monday stayed prosecution of former vice-chancellor of NTR Health University IV Rao and one of its former directors T Ravi Raj by a complaint lodged against them under the SC and ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. The duo moved the High Court saying that they were named as accused in a complaint lodged by G Raja Sundara Babu, state president of the AP Dalit Employees Union. According to the complaint, the petitioners had harassed one Dalit faculty member Kiran Kumar and had failed to promote him to the post of assistant professor contrary to court orders. The petitioners contended that the said person had never worked under them.
