BS Lalli is accused with corruption charges in the Commonwealth Games.
New Delhi: President Pratibha Patil signed the order for suspension of Prasar Bharati CEO BS Lalli on Tuesday.
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry had sought his suspension and had earlier sent a note to the Prime Minister's Office in which the additional solicitor general had recommended Lalli's suspension, saying his continued presence at Prasar Bharati may impede the working of the national broadcaster with the Supreme Court inquiry into his alleged financial irregularities pending.
Lalli is accused with corruption charges in the Commonwealth Games, financial mismanagement and giving contracts to dubious broadcast companies.
