HYDERABAD: With good inflows into Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar to the extent of 2.86 lakh cusecs and 2.38 lakh cusecs respectively, power generation in the hydel power plants has jumped up to 55 million units on Saturday.    The hydel power generation is likely to reach 60 MU by Sunday. The total installed capacity of the APGenco hydel stations is around 3,829 MW.Taking advantage of the increased generation, APGENCO has taken up overhaul of 990 MW thermal units. “At present all units of Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar, Sileru and other power stations are available for generation. Nagarjuna Sagar system will be operated as per the irrigation requirement,” said K Vijayanand, managing director, APGenco.Currently, the Srisailam reservoir has reached Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of 885 ft and Nagarjuna Sagar has reached 568.67 ft resulting in power generation of 35.35 MU and 1.46 MU respectively. At present APGENCO is discharging 69,322 cusecs of water from Srisailam to Nagarjuna Sagar.
