MADURAI: In an effort to root out chances of tampering with school mark sheets, the Tamil Nadu education department will issue tamper proof mark sheets for the Class XII students from Wednesday.S Nagaraja Murugan, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Madurai, said the mark sheet would have additional security features like a 2D barcode and the photograph of student. It would give no chance for preparing fake mark lists. The mark sheets have been sent to district education officers who would distribute them to the schools. Students could get their mark sheets at their respective schools, said the CEO.Speaking about the first-of-its-kind initiative, the CEO said that students no longer needed to visit the employment exchange offices after getting their mark sheets. Schools would register all the students and update their information in the employment offices online. The schools could register the students’ details in the employment office between May 30 and June 15. User IDs and passwords have been given to all the schools. All students registered within the stipulated time would get the same seniority as those registered at the employment office, the CEO added. The effort would prevent the students from running from pillar to post to register themselves at the employment office. It would considerably reduce the crowd at the employment offices and avoid students missing their certificates. The initiative had been implemented with the effort of three departments — department of employment and training, school education department and national informatics centre, Tamil Nadu. For those who have already registered their Class X mark sheets in the employment office, the schools would update their 12th registration. They needed to carry their employment office’s registration card.In Sivagangai district, 13,484 students had written their examination and 12,214 passed. Necessary steps had been taken in the district to register the details of the students in the employment office.
