Pillai: Deal wont hinder building new dam

KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna Pillai said on Saturday that the agreement between Tamil Nadu and Kerala was no way a hurdle in building a new dam at Mullaperiyar. Taking part in the‘Mukhamukham’ programme at the Press Club here, the former minister said that the government and the UDF were resolved to build a new dam. If any forest area is lost in the process, there is scope for bringing other areas under forest cover to make good the losses, he said.
