BANGALORE: The Passing out Parade of Aeronautical Engineers & Short Service Commission Course was held at the Air Force Technical College on Friday.The passing out parade marked the culmination of 74 weeks of training (22 weeks training at Air Force Academy and 52 weeks at Air Force Technical College) in Aeronautical Engineering, military leadership, managerial skills and ethos of an air warrior.The course comprised of 143 officers including 22 women officers and 5 international officers (from Africa, Burma, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal) who passed out after one year of training at AFTC.Air Marshal DC Kumaria, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Headquarters Western Air Command was the Chief Guest and reviewed the Parade. The Air Marshal emphasised the role engineers in proper maintenance of Aircrafts. He reiterated that the engineer in the IAF is one of the key elements in the field of aviation and an important pillar of aerospace safety.
