WARANGAL: As the struggle for Telangana intensifies day by day, students in Warangal district are losing interest in academics. Though parents are all for the Telangana cause, they want schools to be exempted from the agitation.
"My elder son sings songs in support of a separate Telangana state and the younger one shouts "Jail Telangana" slogans. Both of them have lost interest in studies. They do not study even at home," said R Tirupati Reddy, a resident of Royal Enclave in Hanamkonda. His elder son is studying Class VII at a private school and the younger one Class II at another private school. As a father of two sons, Reddy is a worried man. Though he said that it was tough to search for the best schools for his kids to study, he agreed that Telangana struggle was a greater concern.

Reddy's wife Anitha, who has been active in the Telangana movement, felt that schools should be exempted from it. "I have already been a part of the T cause and will bear all of it for a separate Telangana. But, schools should be exempted from it, keeping in view the career of the future citizens of the region," she said.
