Lahore: A seven-year-old girl and two women were attacked with acid by two men at a busy market in eastern Pakistan on Sunday, witnesses and police said.
The women and the girl were emerging from the Sunday Bazar in Sanda area when the two men, who were riding a motorcycle, threw acid at them and fled.
The trio was rushed to Mayo Hospital.
Salman Kazmi, a doctor at the hospital, told PTI that the women had sustained burns on their faces while the girl was hit by the acid on her legs.
"The condition of one woman and the girl is a little serious," he said.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed the Lahore Police chief to investigate the matter and arrest the attackers.
The family of the women refused to talk to the media.
Police officials said the attack seemed to be related to a dispute involving the family of the women.
The women were reluctant to press charges, one police official told the media.
