Over 10 makh mt paddy purchased during kharif

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd, FCI and IKP groups purchased 2,71,601 MTs of paddy through purchasing centres throughout the state while the rice millers purchased 7,61,069 MTs of paddy during this kharif season.As on the corresponding day last year, 35,218 MTs of paddy were purchased by the government agencies and 2,96,664 MTs by the rice millers, commissioner of civil supplies Harpreet Singh said in a release here.
All the farmers were informed that the paddy purchase centres had been opened with a view to ensure that the farmers get MSP for their paddy.The minimum support price for paddy was Rs 1,110 per quintal for Grade A and Rs1,080 per quintal for common.If there is any problem in getting the MSP, the farmers can contact the joint collector or the district manager of the Civil Supplies Corporation. They can also complaint to the toll free No. 1804 252977 or 1804 250082 for immediate redressal of their grievances.
