KEONJHAR: One person was killed and five were critically injured in a road mishap on Thursday noon. Driver of the vehicle in which they were travelling died of a heart attack a few minutes after the incident. Police said 15 persons were on their way to Janghira from Keonjhar in a jeep when the mishap took place at Mandua under Town police limits. It is suspected that the driver lost control over the vehicle leading to the accident. While Parameswar Patra of Hunda village under Pandapada police limits died on the spot, the injured have been admitted to Keonjhar hospital. Following the incident, the irate locals tried to catch hold of driver Bijay Mohapatra who ran towards Govindpur to escape the mob fury. However, he died of heart attack in a paddy field where he had stopped to catch a breath. Town police have seized the body.
