THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In order to ensure the safety of labourers in the small-scale industries in the state, Zayan Industries, a city-based IT solutions company, is all set to come up with a software-run automatic system. The system is called Industrial Automatic Management System (IAMS). Addressing a press conference here, Jawahar Ratnavelu, head of the IAMS project, said that the launch of the software will take place sometime in March, coinciding with their relocation to the Phase-III of Technopark, which is nearing completion. Large industrial companies already use automatic systems in their factories to reduce manual labour and also to ensure that no hazards occur at the workplace. There are numerous small-scale industrial organisations in the state, which encouraged the company to come up with such a system. Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty will inaugurate the key launch of IAMS on December 3 at YMCA Hall here. Also on the occasion, a workshop for college students on automation in industrial sector will be conducted.
