It was heartbreak for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans as they were eliminated in the Eliminator 1 clash against Rajasthan Royals, breaking their six-match winning streak to a halt and ending their campaign in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Social media was at its peak with memes floating about on RCB’s exit from the tournament as their wait for that first title continued once again.
Despite putting up a fighting total of 173, the RCB bowlers were not able to get the job done thanks to the brilliant work by Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top followed by Riyan Parag steadying the ship through the middle stages and Rovman Powell and Shimron Hetmyer finishing things off in the end.

It was certainly not the best night for Glenn Maxwell. After being out for a golden duck, he also dropped an absolute sitter to miss out on the wicket of Tom Kohler-Cadmore early at the start of the second innings.

While the women’s team were able to get their hands on the crown, the men did not turn up when it mattered the most. RR were truly the better side despite certain decisions going against them and managed to hold their own when the pressure was on them.

While RCB’s tournament comes to a crashing halt, RR on the other hand will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second eliminator which will decide who goes to the final to meet Kolkata Knight Riders and fight for the title.
