BANGALORE: The JD(S) is in a transition mode as far as its organisational structure is concerned.A meeting of JD(S) district presidents and general secretaries chaired by party president HD Deve Gowda on Thursday decided to adopt a new approach in evolving the organisational structure. Our aim is to strengthen party base and make the JD(S) a strong alternative to the BJP and Congress, said former minister Horatti. He added that the party would not scratch its head on immoral practices adopted by the ruling party. As a first step, the meeting decided to reorganise district units in a systematic way. It was decided to end the practice of state leaders selecting district officebearers. From now on, district officebearers would be selected by the local leaders and state leaders would only approve it.From June 1 to 15, the party hopes to constitute all district units. From June 16 to 30 committees will be formed in all 224 constituencies. In July, booth level committees will be formed. After that state leaders would embark on a state tour.
