KURNOOL: Four persons were seriously injured when police rubber bullet at rioters in this troubled town on Tuesday. Curfew continued for the second day Tuesday with feuding factions continuing to be daggers drawn.
Despite a heavy police bandobust, isolated incidents of rioting were reported from localities such as Qazipura, Gudekal and Nizamuddin Colonies in the town on Tuesday morning.The rioting forced the police to fire five rounds in the air and four or five rounds of rubber bullets at the rioters.

The four persons were taken to the Area Hospital for treatment.

About 1,300 policement drawn from the CRPF and the State Security Force were deployed in the town to keep the peace. Inspectorgeneral (Rayalaseema range) Govind Singh, deputy inspectorgeneral (Kurnool) Anil Kumar, Kurnool superintendent of police Shiva Prasad have been camping in the town along with the district collector Ram Shankar Naik, joint collector Jyothi Budha Prakash and others.

In the state capital, the MIM's floor leader in the Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, urged chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to act quickly to bring the situation under control in Adoni. If not, MIM legislators would visit the place to see for themselves the conditions prevailing in the town, he warned.
