New Delhi: In a welcome move for future government job aspirants, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that the government has decided to do away with interviews for low rank jobs from January 1, 2016.
Addressing the nation on his radio programme 'Mann ki Baat', Modi said, "From January 1, next year, there will be no requirement of interview for Group B,C and D posts in central government."
Pushing for his new gold monetisation scheme, PM said, "Gold Monetisation Scheme, a guarantee for security, will be available to the nation in the coming weeks."
"In India, gold has become like a part of our social life. But, keeping gold as dead money is not a smart way in current times", he added.
Gold Monetisation Scheme allows individuals to deposit gold bars or jewellery with banks and earn interest on it.
PM Modi also announced new Indian gold coins with 'Ashok Chakra' imprints.
PM Modi invoked Sardar patel to emphasise on unity and said that's the core principle of idea of India. Remembering Sardar Patel ahead of his birth anniversary on October 31, PM said, "One country, great country, while remembering Sardar Patel, we visualise the whole landscape of India."
"For India's unity, Sardar Patel made great efforts. India is characterised by diversity. And this is our pride. Shanti, Sadbhavana and Ekta are key to progress".
"India is a country of diversities. So many religions, communities, languages, castes and lifestyles, and this diversity is our glory", he added.
Highlighting the importance of organ donation, Modi said, "Organ donation is an important issue. The need for kidneys, heart and liver is high but less number of transplants happen."
"Some states have taken a lead on organ donation and made processes simpler. Tamil Nadu has done well in this", he added.
Speaking on the India-Africa Meet, he said, "India Africa relations are very deep; there are great similarities between us." "India contributing towards human resources development, capacity building and more than 25,000 African students are studying in India", he added.
