There has been no action against Vikram Chauhan and other lawyers who attacked Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar and journalists in the Patiala House Court on Monday and Wednesday.
Chauhan once again defied police summons as the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has slammed Delhi Police for dereliction of duty for failing to ensure security.
He earlier did not appear before the police citing prior commitments, but was seen at a function in Kakardooma court, where he was felicitated for his hooliganism.
The bar council president has said that while a police case is underway against Vikram Chauhan and others, they are mulling action against them condemning their conduct at the Patiala House Court.
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview to CNN-IBN, Delhi Police Chief BS Bassi has said strict action will be taken against all those to defy police summons.
He said, "He was summoned on 16th and he didn't appear on 17th so he has again been summoned on 17th to appear on the 18th. If he doesn't appear I will examine my legal options and take action."
