In an affidavit to SC, CBI has said it is willing to reinvestigate the riot.
New Delhi: The CBI has told the Supreme Court that it has no objection to a reinvestigation into the Gujarat riot cases following the Tehelka expose.
In an affidavit before the apex court, CBI said it is willing to reinvestigate the riot cases as demanded by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and various NGOs.
The NHRC had sought a CBI reinvestigation following the Tehelka sting operation.
Tehelka’s sting operation claimed that Muslims were massacred in 2002 in Gujarat with the knowledge and sanction of Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
It alleged that many state functionaries abetted and facilitated the post-Godhra riots
