A high-level meeting, chaired by urban development and housing ACS GS Sandhu, has given approval for operation of monorail on PPP (public private partnership) model in Pink City.
Hanumangarh: Two climb watertank demanding CBI probe in father’s death
A man and his sister climbed atop an overhead water tank on Friday morning demanding withdrawal of a case lodged against a man who had supported them in seeking a CBI probe into their journalist father’s death a year ago. Lokesh Soni, a scribe in Hanumangarh, had died under mysterious circumstances a year ago and his relatives have been demanding a CBI probe in the case.
Jaipur: Foreign companies bag order for JMRC civil works
Three companies, out of them two are consortium, have bagged Chandpole-Bari Chaupar underground metro line project. The companies have submitted the tender proposals to the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) to bag the civil works and the design works for the underground metro. The estimated cost of the said project is Rs. 550 crore.
Bharatpur: Doctors call off strike after security assurance
The doctors of district RBM hospital, Zanana hospital and Satellite hospital- who were on strike since Thursday evening after a doctor was allegedly misbehaved by relatives of a patient- resumed their duty on Friday. The doctors were pacified after the intervention by district collector Neeraj K Pawan.
Jaipur: CM lays foundation stone of RUHS
Giving fillip to medical education in the state, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot laid the foundation stone of government medical college on Friday at the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS). He also announced that the government plans to set up medical colleges in 15 district hospitals with 300 or more beds. The government college will be the second such institute in Jaipur after Sawai Man Singh Medical College.
Jaipur: Teej procession to include elephants
A wave of cheer and happiness spread among the tourists and the local populace of Jaipur when they heard the elephants would participate in the Teej procession and celebrations scheduled for August 9 and 10. This was possible due to the intense and focussed effort of tourism department, said minister for tourism, art and culture, Bina Kak. She further informed the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has given permission for 30 elephants to take part in the event.
Jaipur: State to have 15 new medical colleges
In the run-up to the Assembly elections, CM Ashok Gehlot on Friday tried to woo the people with an announcement that the state government plans to open 15 more medical colleges at various district hospitals which have 300-bed facility. The CM said that for this Medical Council of India MCI, New Delhi guidelines are being studied.
