Newly-wed woman commits suicide

BANGALORE: A newly-wed woman committed suicide by hanging, after allegedly being harassed by her husband over dowry money, in Subrahmanyapura police station limits on Thursday.The deceased has been identified as Shalini (26), a resident of Gowdanapalya.Police said that Shalini committed suicide at her residence when her husband Rajesh had gone for work.Shalini and Rajesh, a native of Mandya, had married three months back. He allegedly was harassing her for dowry. Police said that she did not leave any suicide note, but they arrested Rajesh on the basis of the dowry death case registered by her father.Subrahmanyapura police are investigating the case.
