New Delhi: Former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) President H D Deve Gowda said on Monday he would do everything to strengthen his party and that his son and Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will look after politics in the state.
Gowda asserted that that he along with the 21 state presidents and four MPs (two Lok Sabha and two Rajya Sabha) would look after party affairs at the Centre.
As of now, JD-S is left with only two MPs in the Lower House after the suspension of Veerenderkumar from the party last week.
Gowda claimed his party was the real JD-S, even after aligning with the BJP and added that his son had entered into an alliance with the BJP around one year ago under "inevitable political circumstances".
He emphasised on the interests of farmers and said that there was no security threat to the minority community in Karnataka.
