More than one lakh Ganesh idols immersed in just two days

Bangalore: More than One lakh Ganesh idols have already been immersed in various lakes and tanks in Bangalore. According to City Corporation (BBMP) officials 1, 10, 250 Ganesh idols have so far been immersed at different immersion spots in the city.

The immersion went on till 4 o'clock in the morning at most places. The Sankey tank alone has witnessed the immersion of more than 36,000 idols in just two days. The Ulsoon Lake or Halasur Lake has seen more than 50,000 immersions in the first two days.

Ganesh idols are normally immersed on 1,3,5,7 and 9th day of the festival. More than 3 lakh Ganesh idols have been sold in Bangalore alone, this year.

The BBMP and City Police have made elaborate arrangements for the immersion across IT city.
