KOZHIKODE: The number of CPM leaders arrested in the TP Chandrasekharan murder case has risen to six, including K C Ramachandran, Padayankandi Raveendran, former secretary of the Kunnothuparambu branch, Vadakkayil Manoj and Jyothi Babu, Kunnothuparamba local committee member. Earlier, there were reports that two area committees of CPM had planned and executed the murder with the assistance of a quotation gang.The police have already issued a lookout circular for P K Kunjananthan, member of the Panur area committee of the party in Kannur district. Sources maintained that SIT has learnt from Sijith, close aide of Kodi Suni, that he was taken to a hospital in Koothuparamba by a district CPM leader. He was taken to Karnataka in the car of another party leader. Sijith, who was arrested on Wednesday and remanded in police custody, told the police that the CPM leaders had given him money while going underground. Meanwhile, police intensified the search for the accused hiding in the party strongholds in Kannur district.
