BANGALORE: Investigation into the telephone calls made to Pakistan from Bangalore Central Jail premises at Parappana Agrahara reveals that more than 140 calls were reportedly made this year from the prison.
A state intelligence official said the calls were made to Islamabad, Karachi and other areas in PoK from various mobile numbers of different service providers. "The addresses of SIM card holders have been prepared and the police are verifying the details," he said, adding that it may not be possible to verify each one as the addresses might be wrong. Explaining the need to curb this link between inmates and outsiders, officials said there has to be mobile jammers within the prison. But the proposal for jammers has been in cold storage for the last two months.
