Kaushik will be in charge of the team till the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games in China.

The ad-hoc selection committee, headed by former Olympian Ajit Pal Singh, cleared the names on Wednesday.

Kaushik, who is presently the coach of the women's team, was at the helm when India won gold at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games.

The gold at Bangkok was India's first in the Asian Games in 32 years and the only major tournament win since the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
