Minister reviews arrangements for Amarnath yatra
Surjeet Singh Slathia said that conduct of smooth and peaceful yatra was the priority for Jammu and Kashmir govt.

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjeet Singh Slathia on Monday reviewed the arrangements for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra and comfortable stay of pilgrims in case of inclement weather.

Divisional commissioner Pawan Kotwal, Jammu Inspector General of Police Dilbagh Singh, Jammu DIG Farooq Khan, Director Tourism and Secretary Summer Secretariat were prominent among those who attended the meeting convened by the minister to review the arrangements.

The Minister, who is here to attend the Summer Secretariat for a week, also reviewed the power, water supply and position of other essential services in view of the ongoing yatra to the cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.

The Minister will be available at the summer secretariat for the whole week to listen to the grievances of public of the region and also monitor the various development works.

Slathia also inquired about the arrangements made for the stay of pilgrims in Jammu and along the National highway from Lakhanpur to Jammu and onward from Jammu to Srinagar in case of suspension of pilgrimage due to bad weather.

The Minister said that conduct of smooth and peaceful yatra was the priority of his Government and stressed upon the concerned department functionaries to work in synergy.
