THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Information and Public Relations Minister K C Joseph on Tuesday announced the state media awards on Tuesday. K Sreekumar, chief sub-editor, Mathurbhumi, won the award for general reporting for his series on the horrors of train journeys. P R Praveena of Manorama News won the award in the visual media section for her report on the exploitation of patients by pharmaceutical companies and distributors. Reji Joseph, staff reporter, Rashtra Deepika, won the award for developmental reporting for his series on the ‘Sparsham’ scheme aimed at fostering communal harmony in riot-torn Marad. Manu Viswanath of the Deshabhimani won the award for photography and K Sujith won the award for cartoon.
