BARGARH: The three persons, who were detained by Bargarh police for moving suspiciously in a four-wheeler on July 15, have been identified as hardcore Maoists.Confirming this to newsmen on Sunday, Bargarh SP Kavita Jalan said the trio and the driver of the MUV have been arrested for Maoist links. Police have also recovered from their possession a country-made pistol, six rounds of live ammunition, letter addressed to their Commander, proceedings of their meetings, two tiffin box bombs, two detonators, route map, Maoist literature besides some cash and food. The arrested have been identified as Anil Kumar alias Azad (25) of Kasadand village and Rambatai Usendi (20) of Alpara village in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, Shambati Dubba (20) of Bhimnar village in Narayanpur district also in Chhattisgarh besides driver Mukunda Naik (27) of Rajapada in Padampur town in Sambalpur district. The vehicle is owned by one Sandip Agrawal of Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district and his antecedents are being verified, Jalan said. Another accomplice, David, who was with the trio managed to escape. The SP revealed that Azad was working with the banned outfit for six years and was the head of the newly-formed Mahasamund-Bargarh division head, which has about 50 to 55 members. All the arrested were involved in several incidents of violence in Chhattisgarh. Jalan said all the inmates of the MUV were on way to Nuapada from Chhattisgarh through Paikmal when they were intercepted at Amarpalli Chowk. Shambati was five-month pregnant out of her relationship with another Maoist, Roshan, and all were on their way to get the conception aborted in Nuapada besides attending some meetings.
