JAIPUR: In a gruesome incident, a youth axed three members of his family at Katikata village under Mangalpur police limits late on Tuesday night. The accused, Soubhagya Ranjan Padhi, killed his mother Usharani (51), sister Madhusmita (24) and brother Dipti Ranjan Padhi and is absconding ever since.He also killed a cow, that the family had domesticated, and injured another three cattle. The incident came to light when one of the neighbours went to Padhi’s house this morning. The accused was teaching tuitions in Bhubaneswar and had returned home last year after his father’s demise. Being the eldest, entire family burden fell on him and he was under tremendous pressure. The weapon used in the crime has been seized and efforts are on to apprehend Ranjan, said Deepak Kumar, Jajpur SP.
