New Delhi: Pop diva Madonna, who kicked off the UK leg of her “Sticky and Sweet” tour on Saturday, has drawn the ire of supporters of Republican US presidential candidate John McCain.
The McCain camp is outraged after the 50-year-old equated the US senator with Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler during her performance.
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds has termed the comparisons as "outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time."
Amid a four-act show at Cardiff's packed Millennium Stadium, a video interlude juxtaposed images of destruction, global warming, Adolf Hitler, Zimbabwe's authoritarian President Robert Mugabe and McCain.
In another sequence, shown later, carried images of Beatle John Lennon, followed by climate activist Al Gore, Mahatma Gandhi and finally McCain's Democratic rival Barack Obama.
