BANGALORE: A 20-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a passenger train at Rajanukunte near Deavanahalli on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Alok Ranjankumar, a native of Bihar. He was studying engineering in Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology near Devanahalli and was residing at the college hostel.According to police, the incident came to light at around 9 am when passersby found his body and informed the police, who rushed to the spot and recovered the body along with a suicide note and a note addressed to the principal of his college. Ranjankumar took the extreme step as he was dejected in his love life.Preliminary investigation revealed that Ranjankumar was in love with a girl, who is studying in the same college. His friend Amruth was also in love with that girl.On Friday morning he got into an argument with his friend and the girl. Hurt by this, Ranjankumar took the extreme step.In his suicide note, he stated, “I don’t want to live anymore. Therefore I am ending my life. I hope my parents will forgive me for this step.” However, in the note addressed to the principal he said, “Amruth had assaulted me after locking me inside his room for talking to the girl.” The letter also stated that he was teased for being a north Indian by his classmates.Reportedly he had called his friends stating that he was facing problems. When his friends went to his room, they did not find him there. In the morning when they heard the news , they alleged that he had been murdered.
