Lalu appealed before the Supreme Court saying he will not get a fair trial for the fodder scam cases in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Bihar: Former chief minister Lalu Yadav has lost Bihar but the battle for him does not end with the Bihar polls.

Lalu Yadav on Tuesday appealed before the Supreme Court that he will not get a fair trial for the fodder scam cases in Bihar and Jharkhand.

In an apparent reference to change of guard in Bihar after 15 years of RJD rule, Lalu's counsel Ram Jethmalani said, "It has now become impossible to seek justice in Bihar and Jharkhand Courts."

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has already said that there would be no vendetta politics but Lalu wants the Apex Court to make sure that the Chief Justice of the Patna High does not transfer these cases to any other judge other than Munni Lal Paswan.

Paswan's appointment as the judge in the fodder scam case is already under the scanner, as it?s believed his appointment was more political than judicial.

Besides seeking a stay on the transfer of the Special CBI judge hearing disproportionate assets cases against Lalu and Rabri, the PIL filed by Janata Dal (United) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi had challenged the quashing of income tax cases against the couple.

They accused Lalu of interfering in the ongoing trial of multi-crore fodder scam cases and the government of not pursuing the income tax cases due to his position in the United Progressive Alliance government.
