KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday observed that foreign citizens whose activities are found suspicious should be deported. The state was expected to be a safer place but it seems all anti-national activities are being initiated in the state. “Kerala has become unsafe,” the court orally observed.Justice S Siri Jagan made the observation while considering a petition filed by Palppetty Muhammed of Thiroorangadi challenging the quit notice issued by the District Collector. The petitioner said that he has been living in India for the past 25 years. Hence the order to deport him should be cancelled, he submitted. He also sought a directive to grant Indian nationality. The court had earlier asked the police to file a report in the case.In a report, the Malappuram DySP submitted before the court that the petitioner possessed two Indian passports and three Pakistani passports. There was no evidence that he had migrated to Pakistan from India. He has no right to claim Indian citizenship, the police said.As per the documents available with the court, it was found that the petitioner had visited Pakistan many times. If the situation persists the security of the nation will be under threat, the court said. No one can possess more than one passport and the court asked how the petitioner came to possess many passports.
