Manmadhan Ambu (Cupid Love) is a romantic comedy film.

New Delhi: South Indian superstar Kamal Hassan's much-hyped romantic comedy film Manmadhan Ambu (Cupid Love) is releasing across the globe on Thursday.

The Tamil film is written by Kamal Hassan and produced and directed by Udhayanidhi Stalin and KS Ravikumar. It stars Kamal Hassan, R Madhvan, Trisha Krishnan and Sangeetha Krish in the lead roles.

Hassan plays the role of a military officer while Madhvan plays the role of a business magnate in the film. The film has been shot in Rome, Venice, Paris and Barcelona.

The film is said to have the potential to break records of superstar Rajinikanth's blockbuster Endhiran.

Movie websites reported that tickets for this weekend have already been sold out. Lakshmi Ganapathi Films is presenting it in Telugu.

Manmadhan Ambu courted controversy last month after extreme right wing groups protested against the lyrics of song that Hassan has himself sung in the film as obscene.

Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for the film, with several songs written and sung by Kamal Haasan himself. Manush Nandan and Shaan Mohammed made their debut as cinematographer and editor for the film.
