JNU Professor Archana Prasad addressed a group of villagers in Bastar to highlight the situation in the conflict zone.

Police in Maoist-affected Bastar in Chhattisgarh have complained to the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Vice Chancellor against a professor alleging he was involved in 'inciting villagers against the government'.

Bastar Superintendent of Police RN Dash sent letters to the Vice Chancellor claiming that the local villagers told him that professor Archana Prasad asked them to support the Maoists.

"This is to inform you that a complaint has been received against Ms. Archana Prasad, professor of Centre for informal sector & Labour Studies, School of Social Science (JNU). The complaint has been lodged by villagers of Kumakoleng and Soutnar on May 17. A probe has been ordered by the SHO of Darbha Police Station," the SP's letter reads.

The SP's letter also contains additional documents (complaint lodged by the villagers) mentioning how Archana tried to incite them against the government.

Archana allegedly addressed a group of villagers in Bastar to highlight the situation in the conflict zone where incidents of gun battles between the security forces and Maoists are common.
