New Delhi: The People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are believed to have agreed on keeping the status quo on Article 370 and Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said.
The sources said PDP's Mufti Mohammed Sayeed is likely to get the chief minister's post for the full term while the BJP may get the Deputy CM's post.
Meanwhile, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has said the deal with BJP on formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir is almost done and a decision on the common minimum programme (CMP) will be taken in the coming days.
Mehbooba has dismissed reports that she will be meeting BJP president Amit Shah on Monday.
The leaders of the PDP, which has 28 MLAs, and BJP, with 25 MLAs in the 87-member Assembly, chose to keep under wraps details of the CMP as also how the two sides thrashed out contentious issues including Article 370, AFSPA and rehabilitation of nearly 25,000 West Pakistan Refugees over which they were sharply divided.
