Pakur: The police on Tuesday arrested eight of the 20 men in the tribal minor girls gangrape case. Four girls belonging to the Pahadia tribe were allegedly kidnapped from their hostel and raped by 20 men. The girls were staying in the hostel of a Christian missionary school in Pakur district. The police was informed about the incident by the villagers on Monday.
"They locked all the teachers inside, entered the girls' hostel and took them outside," said the missionary school principal.
Superintendent of Police YS Ramesh held a meeting with the villagers who assured help to the police in arresting the accused. "We've asked them to surrender within 24 hours. Our team is conducting a detailed probe of all the youth in the area and are trying to get their whereabouts," the SP said.
