Tel Aviv: More than 50 couples from northern Israel tied the knot in Tel Aviv on Monday, despite a month-long war that almost foiled their plans.
Brides dressed in white and nervous grooms waited as couple after couple were wed by a team of Rabbis.
The intense barrage of Hizbollah rockets have ravaged parts of Northern Israel, leaving some of the newlyweds with a difficult road ahead.
"This is the first time in history, in our Jewish history, that more than 50 young couples are married in the same time," said Israel's chief rabbi Yona Metzger who presided over the event.
"You know in our tradition we break a glass in the finish of this..in every wedding. So it is a symbol that the biggest bomb that Israel
could send to Nasrallah is that we are continuing our happiness and that no one will destroy our happiness."
After the ceremonies the newlyweds, along with their friends and
family, danced the night away at a mass reception.
