India rejects reports of SL taking over parts of IOC depot
Earlier, reports came that Sri Lanka had announced plans that it would partially take over a strategic oil storage depot in Trincomalee from the IOC's local arm.

New Delhi: India on Thursday denied reports that Sri Lanka had decided to reposses a part of a strategic oil depot Indian Oil as was announced by Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. An official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said that India has been assured that such reports were not correct.

Earlier, reports came that Sri Lanka had announced plans that it would partially take over a strategic oil storage depot in Trincomalee from the Indian Oil Company's local arm after India voted in favour of a US-sponsored resolution against Colombo at the UNHRC.

There had been unconfirmed reports in the local media that the government was eying the 99-tank storage facility in the Northeastern port district of Trincomalee.
