Im With NR, says Independent MLA

KARAIKAL: Putting an end to speculations, VMC Sivakumar, the lone independent MLA in the Puducherry Assembly, has reiterated his support for the AINRC government led by N Rangasamy. Speaking to reporters at Karaikal, Sivakumar, who is representing the Neravy-TR Pattinam constituency for the sixth term, said that there was no change in his stand regarding supporting the Rangasamy government.“I have already submitted a letter to the Lieutenant Governor offering my support to the government. There is no change in that. I will continue to support the Chief Minister,” he said.It may be noted that VMC Sivakumar, who had been expecting a berth in the cabinet ,  was conspicuous by his absence at the swearing-in ceremony of ministers held in Puducherry last week. The AINRC government needs the support of Sivakumar to have a simple majority in the house. Stories were doing the rounds that Sivakumar may not support the government as he had not been inducted into the cabinet. But now, Rangasamy need not have any misgivings with Sivakumar having cleared his stand.
