Xiaomi is bringing its own budget smartphone in the form of Redmi 13 this week in the Indian market. Nothing has got everyone excited with its CMF Phone 1 and the whole game around removable cases. Redmi will be hoping to catch buyer’s attention with its tried-and-tested focus on value and features that work for millions.
The Redmi series has shown itself to be a capable device that caters to the budget audience but with the overall market growing and becoming costlier, the Redmi 13 version could join the chorus but not without some useful upgrades, as shown in the teasers.
Redmi 13 India Launch Event Details, Where To Watch
The Redmi 13 India launch event is going to be star-studded with multiple new products from Xiaomi going to be announced, including a special showcase. Redmi 13 India launch event starts at 12:00 PM IST from Bengaluru on Tuesday and you can head over to the Xiaomi YouTube channel to catch up on the livestream.
Redmi 13 Features And Price In India Expected
Xiaomi is celebrating 10 years in India with its big launch event where we will also see the new Redmi Buds, Robot vacuum cleaner and a few power banks. But all eyes will be on the Redmi upgrade for 2024 which should be looking to up the ante in the budget segment. And the early signs hint at good news for buyers. It seems the Redmi 13 will feature a glass body, which is a big departure from the plastic panel that we have seen earlier on the series.
We don’t expect much to change on the display front, while the performance will be handled by a Qualcomm chipset, most likely one of the Snapdragon 4 Gen versions with 6GB or maybe 8GB RAM which seems unlikely. We’re just hoping that Xiaomi ends the 4GB RAM journey for the Redmis from here on.
It is also reported that the Redmi 13 will get a new camera sensor that will be the biggest upgrade for the Redmi lineup. The phone should also become the first to get HyperOS out of the box, which means more devices added to the new IoT ecosystem and you get Android 14 pre-installed. And finally, expect the Redmi 13 to pack a 5000mAh battery which is the standard but a faster charging support would be a welcome addition.
Going by all these features and upgrades, we expect the Redmi 13 price in India to start around Rs 11,000 with launch offers making the deal sweeter.
