Illegal LPG connections thriving

BANGALORE: Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje on Monday revealed that there were about 30 lakh unclaimed and over 10 lakh multiple LPG gas connections in the state.Speaking to reporters here, she said that they would start cracking whip on these connections soon. Before that, the department would put up the list of unclaimed connections within 2-3 days in all gas agencies besides putting it on its website. Genuine connections we will delete them from the list after verification, she said.On ration cards, she said that issuing of new BPL and APL cards will start after Dasara. There is a demand for 10 lakh BPL cards in the state, the process of finding out fake BPL cards has almost come to an end, she added.
