IFA 2012: LG unveils Optimus G smartphone
The smartphone sports a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

New Delhi: LG Electronics unveiled the Optimus G smartphone. It is an LTE device that is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.5GHz.

The LG Optimsu G is claimed to be the the first commercial smartphone to offer the Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) processor with a Quad-Core Krait CPU, LTE supported capabilities, and the newest generation Adreno™ 320 GPU.

The Optimus G features a beautiful 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS+ Display with a resolution of 1280x768 pixels. It will come packed with a 2,100mAh battery. The smartphone sports a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

The phone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and has 2GB of RAM. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, DLNA and NFC.

According to LG, NTT DOCOMO will be the first to unveil a Japanese edition of the Optimus G. The global version of the device will be launched in Korea in September, followed by other markets worldwide.
