Husband beat up for DSPs suicide

TIRUPATI: Relatives of CID DSP N Hemalatha, who committed suicide on Monday, beat up her husband Madhu Murthy on Tuesday, pointing fingers at him for her death.Family members of Hemalatha gathered at SV Medical College where her post mortem was performed and demanded the arrest of Madhu Murthy. Tension prevailed at the mortuary for sometime, as the relatives surrounded Madhu Murthy and were yelling abuses at him. MR Palli police had a tough time controlling the angry relatives. However, no police case was registered against the incident. Madhu Murthy was taken to MR Palli police station for enquiry and let off later.The last rites of Hemalatha were held in Durgasamudram, where she resided.Meanwhile, the police are investigating the suicide and recorded the statement of Madhu Murty, an advocate, who suspected that stress might have led his wife to take the extreme step.“We are looking at other possible reasons for her suicide,” Tirupati urban police district in-charge SP K Jagga Rao said.
