BANGALORE: The Varthur police are yet to arrest the man who allegedly killed his daughter-in-law and granddaughter. The police are searching for him at his native town Rajapalyam in Madurai in Tamil Nadu.The accused Nagarajan, a garment factory employee, is still absconding after allegedly killing his daughter-in-law Vijayalakshmi (27) at her residence in Varthur police limits on Tuesday.Nagarajan allegedly set her ablaze by pouring kerosene on her. Due to the smoke inside the house, even her three-month-old unnamed daughter also died on Wednesday.Nagarajan was allegedly not pleased about the intercaste marriage between his son Raja Kannan, who is a designer at a company in ITPL, and Vijayalakshmi.The other members of the family were said to have been cordial with her. Her mother-in-law used to visit her son's house and even stayed there some time. However, Nagarajan had allegedly threatened Vijayalakshmi that he would kill her some day. Nagarajan had even warned his wife and his second son to avoid Vijayalakshmi, the police said.Illegal LPG refilling: 1 heldThe Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested a 30yearold man for illegally refilling commercial LPG cylinders in Rajagopalnagar.Syed Habeen, a resident of Kareemsaab Layout, Hegganahalli, was illegally refilling gas at his house, the police said. They have recovered 41 cylinders including 8 of HP, 3 of Bharath Gas, 3 of Indane and 27 commercial cylinders, totally worth about `2 lakh from him. A case has been registered in Rajagopalanagar police station and the investigation is on.
