Honouring a legend called Savithri!

CHENNAI: To mark the 75th birthday of actress Savithri, Mahanati Savithri Samkruthika Lakapeetham Samshema Sangam, Vijaywada has organised a function on December 6.On the occasion of the diamond jubilee celebrations, Paruchi Vijaylakshmi has taken the initiative to honour other legendary personalities who have excelled in their respective fields. Not just this, the Mahanati Savithri award for Excellence will be presented to Lagadapati Padmasri, wife of Lagadapati Rajagopal, member of Parliament, Vijaywada. Since actress Savithri spent her last few days in Chennai, the committee members decided to celebrate her 75th birthday here. Focussing on the acting career of the actress, a small video on Savithri will be screened at the event. Another highlight of the event will be the cutting of a cake by Vijaya Chamundeswari, the daughter of Savithri.The diamond jubilee function will be held at Hotel Savera at 6pm, December 6.
