HYDERABAD: The disabled employees of Andhra Pradesh Vikalangula Cooperative Corporation (APVCC) are celebrating as not only has the High Court revoked the government order which slashed their salaries by 60 per cent but the employees will also get the pending arrears for the last 27 months when the controversial GO was implemented.
The High Court on Friday cancelled GO No 206, which was issued in June 2009, and ordered the APVCC to implement the previous GO No 24, said senior advocate Korrapati Subbarao. He explained that as per the GO No 206, employees of the APVCC has suffered a 60 per cent cut in their monthly salary. But with the court's help, they will now get their original salary from September as well as the lump sum of the salary they had lost since the GO. "The HC will serve the orders to APVCC in a week to prepare the payment details of the employees. Details of payments will be served to employees by end of this month," said Subbarao. On an average every employee would get `2 lakh each. At present, there are 429 employees working under the APVCC.

R Shakuntala (45), a helper technician of APVCC, said, "I am very happy to hear the news. Employees of the APVCC had been eagerly waiting for this judgment from the court and we are very glad."

Though most employees are extremely happy with the verdict, some like M Venkatesh still harbour doubts. "I have been working since 1983 under the APVCC and have seen many charges in the administration. The government has given orders to remove employees who joined through recommendations in the APVCC between 1985 and 1990 and to stop all allowances to us. But we have been working here for a long time and have not been getting any allowances or increments according to the Pay Revision Commission since 2009. Until I get my full salary, I cannot expect anything as there could be some other changes in the APVCC administration again," said Venkatesh.

What's your reaction?
