Harish Rawat pays tribute to Jawahar Lal Nehru, urges people to follow his ideals

Describing Jawahar Lal Nehru as an apostle of world peace, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Tuesday said his contributions in the making of modern India cannot be forgotten.

"Pandit Nehru was a remarkable leader who gave the country's socialist movement a new direction," Rawat said garlanding the statue of India's first Prime Minister at the old jail in Dehradun on his death anniversary.

Remembering Nehru for what he did in the field of employment generation by setting up new industries, the Chief Minister said "We have to follow his ideals and fight communal forces to build a strong India.”
