New Delhi: Promising a "thorough" probe by FBI into Wisconsin Gurudwara shooting in which six Sikhs were killed, US Ambassador Nancy Powell has said that anyone found involved in the incident will be brought to justice.
"Our Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation; though the news suggests this was the act of one individual, if anyone else is involved, they will be brought to justice and charged under all relevant laws," Powell said, adding law enforcement agencies were working hard to prevent such incidents.
The Ambassador said this in reply to a letter on Thursday to Convenor of BJP's Overseas Affairs Vijay Jolly who had demanded better security to Sikh community living in the US.
"The President, Secretary of State, and I have all conveyed to the Sikh community and Indian Government that United States abhors acts of religious violence. Our law enforcement works hard to prevent such acts, and investigates them thoroughly when they occur," she said.
Reaching out to the Sikh community in the wake of the incident, Powell had offered prayers at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara here.
"I, too, was shocked to hear of the horrible news from Wisconsin Gurudwara. I visited the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara to convey to the Sikh community my profound sadness and disappointment at this terrible event," she said.
A former girlfriend of the slain gunman was on Wednesday arrested after a weapon was found from her house.
