Gulbarga ZP likely to be served notice

GULBARGA: Panchayat Raj Department, which received the recommendation of Gulbarga Regional Commissioner Rajanish Goel suggesting action against Gulbarga ZP for violating Section 180 (1) of Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act 1993, may serve show cause notice to the ZP president and CEO in a day or two.Highly-placed sources in the government told Express that the government is in a dilemma on how to serve the show cause notice to the ZP which is run by its own party.Sources said that just to send a message to all the ZPs, the state government may issue notice to ZP president to call an emergency general body meeting within a few days to avoid further complications.
