New Delhi: People tormented by the Maoist attacks of Chhattisgarh may now take a sigh of relief.
The Centre on Sunday reviewed the Maoist problem in the state at a high-level meeting and promised to provide all assistance in curbing violence by the extremists.
Union Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal held a high-level meeting of CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police and the state government at Bilaspur and reviewed the naxalite menace on Tuesday.
An anti-naxal campaign already being carried out in Bastar region in the name of 'Salwa Judum', was also looked on, the Chattisgarh Director General of Police Om Prakash Rathor said in Delhi.
Jaiswal also promised to provide all assistance to carry out its operation against the naxalites, Rathor said.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal said that the Centre was serious about the naxalite problem and ready to provide all assistance to the affected states.
"To solve the naxalite menace all have to rise above the political line," he said.
On request of the state government Para-military forces and helicopters have also been provided by the Centre.
Jaiswal opined that 'Salwa Judum', had indeed demoralized the naxalites' fighting for survival and also speeded up developmental works in the affected areas.
